By Fidelis Agwu

Five employees of the state-owned Ambrose Alli University (AAU), located in Ekpoma, Edo State, have been let go, while 21 more are being investigated for a variety of criminal offenses.
The Special Intervention Team (SIT) chairman, Mr. Austin Osakue, revealed this in Benin while presenting Governor Godwin Obaseki with the SIT's progress report. He said that the institution's disciplinary body had fired the personnel.
The work of the SIT would not be recognized unless the institution analyzes its enabling legislation, Osakue urged the state government to form a governing council and start the hiring process for main executives for the institution.
Governor Obaseki responded by stating that his administration is dedicated to bringing back the institution's former splendor.
