A
16-year-old girl named Priscilla Galadima was killed in Minna after being run
over by a tanker driver, according to the
Police Command in Niger.
This was
verified to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Thursday by the
command's spokesperson, DSP Wasiu Abiodun.
The dead was
killed tragically while attempting to cross the street at the Shiroro
roundabout, according to the command spokeswoman.
According to
him, Minna, a resident of the Barkin-Sale neighborhood, was killed while
attempting to cross the street at the Shiroro roundabout.On Wednesday, at
around 10 a.m., a Mercedes Benz with the registration number SUL 140 AJ was
being driven by Daniel Joshua, a 35-year-old Morris Minna resident, and was
traveling from Mandela Road toward the Shiroro roundabout.
But sometime
along the route, he drove carelessly and scraped a Toyota Yaris driven by
Abubakar Yahaya of Okada Road with the registration number RJA 375 AA.
According to
reports, the Toyota car chased the Mercedes vehicle in an attempt to get it to
stop.
"Priscilla
Galadima, 16, of Barkin-Sale was trying to cross the road by Shiroro roundabout
when the Benz struck her in the process," he said.
In addition
to stating that the woman was struck in the other lane, Abiodun claimed,
"Unfortunately, an oncoming tanker trailer with Reg.No. JMT 576 YR driven
by one Ibrahim Lawal of Jembutu Yola, ran over the deceased."
He said that
after being transferred to General Hospital Minna, the deceased's death was
officially declared. Abiodun noted that the deceased was transferred to the
mortuary at the Minna General Hospital in Minna while the drivers were detained
and taken to the Tudum Wada police division for additional investigation.
