Sixteen nude videos were discovered on the phone of Cyril Ndifon, the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Calabar, who has been suspended.
Bwaigu Fungo, a forensic and intelligence analyst with the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, testified that Ndifon forwarded the videos, which were sent by a witness named TKJ, to another number. Fungo revealed that a total of sixteen nude videos were extracted from Ndifon's phone, with only three of them belonging to TKJ.
TKJ, a law graduate, alleged that Ndifon demanded oral sex and her virginity in exchange for admission into the LLB program.
She also accused Ndifon of forcing her to perform oral sex in front of her hostel in his car. Ndifon is currently on trial for alleged sexual harassment and gratification directed towards TKJ and others. The trial also involves his lawyer; Sunny Anyanwu, who allegedly encouraged TKJ to disregard the ICPC's invitation. During the trial, Fungo, the fourth witness, disclosed that Ndifon forwarded TKJ's nude videos to a number that ended with 617.
He stated that a video sent by TKJ was also recorded by another phone while being played on the phone. Fungo confirmed that a total of sixteen nude videos were extracted from Ndifon's phone, with three of them sent by TKJ. He further mentioned that one of the nude videos was sent on September 26, 2023, at Ndifon's request.
Fungo also presented WhatsApp chats as evidence, which indicated requests for and receipt of nude videos. Under cross-examination, Fungo clarified that the extraction was done involuntarily based on forensic analysis. Joe Agi, the defense counsel, requested that the nude videos be played again to confirm TKJ's movements in the clip.
Fungo confirmed the presence of movement in the video. Agi requested an adjournment to continue his cross-examination and also asked for the second defendant to be taken to the hospital for treatment before being returned to custody. The trial judge, Justice James Omotoso, granted the oral application and adjourned the hearing until February 14.
