President Tinubu and Super Eagle

President Bola Tinubu recently awarded the Super Eagles of Nigeria with national honours, plots of land, and flats in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The awards were given during a meeting with Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials and players at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Senator John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, led the meeting, during which the Super Eagles were commended for their hard work, dedication, and sacrifices throughout the recently concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The President acknowledged the obstacles the team overcame and their consistently improving performance that led them to the finals. He also praised their resilience, determination, and exceptional performance, which earned them a significant victory in the hearts of Africa and the world.

In addition to the national honours, the President rewarded the team with flats in the FCT and plots of land. During the meeting, the President encouraged young Nigerians to participate in football within their communities, stressing that they could become future heroes.

He also assured them that his administration was committed to supporting the sport. Alex Iwobi, who faced cyber critic after Nigeria's loss to Cote d'Ivoire in the final, was also present at the meeting.
