By Jide Fashola

Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Governor of Ondo State, has asked the caretaker chairmen of the 18 local government areas and 33 local council development areas in the state to step down from their posts.

The Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs issued a letter, signed by Alonge Adewale, announcing the suspension.

It was stated in the letter that, some caretaker committee members, who were suspended by a court, were still acting as if they were in charge.

He also instructed the Heads of Local Government Administration to take over the LGAs/LCDAs as acting heads until the legal issues were resolved.

Aiyedatiwa demanded the suspended caretaker chairmen to hand over all LGAs/LCDAs assets and properties without delay.
