Traditional leader dies in car crash while searching for kidnapped wives

A traditionalist, Oba Abdul Adetoyese Olakisan, the Aare Ogboni Agbaye and Awise Iwase of Yorubaland, on Sunday died in a car accident while allegedly trailing gunmen that kidnapped his wives.

The police in Osun State have confirmed the death at Imesi-Ile in Obokun LGA.

He was known for his commitment to promoting Yoruba culture and tradition.

Though, on Sunday night, tragedy struck when gunmen invaded his residence in Imesile, Obokun local government area of Osun State, and abducted his two wives.

The news of the kidnapping of his wives threw Oba Olakisan into a state of distress, prompting him to embark on a search mission with a police officer.

Meanwhile, while they were returning home from their search, they had a lone accident, which led to their untimely demise.

The incident has left the people of Yorubaland in shock and mourning, as Oba Olakisan was a respected and beloved figure in the community.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are still in the forest trying to rescue the kidnapped wives.

The passing of Oba Olakisan has not only deprived the Yoruba community of a cultural icon but has also highlighted the security challenges facing Nigeria.

Kidnappings and other forms of violence have become rampant in various parts of the country, with many citizens living in fear.
