A Greene County man was sentenced on Tuesday to 3,000 years in prison for sex crimes against children. According to a news release from the district attorney’s office, Matthew Perry was convicted of 13,143 felony counts of sex crimes against children, including 2,190 counts of rape of a child under age 13. Perry was found guilty after a four-day long trial in November. He will not be eligible for parole until the year 3523.
“I am proud to announce Matthew Perry would have to live for 3000 years in order to pay his debt to society, and now I would like to get back to fulfilling my promise to the people of my community to continue cleaning up the corruption in Greene County,” said Greene County District Attorney David Russo. In a separate development, A Centre County woman was sentenced to between one and two years in jail in a child endangerment case. According to WJAC, Tara Auman of Bellefonte was sentenced to serve 11-and-a-half to 23-and-a-half months in jail after she was accused of providing drugs to her children. Authorities stated that the sentence was part of a consolidation of various cases against her. Auman was charged in May of 2022 following a report by Child and Youth Services which alleged she was smoking and providing methamphetamine to her children. Investigators also said that one of her children reported Auman had given them “bleach baths” because she “believed that bugs were coming out of them.”
