But Komodo Dragon babies instinctively climb to the trees within 2–3 days of hatching.
The reason Komodo babies flee to the trees, is because after a 2–3 day period of time and sometimes sooner, they become open season for the adults, including their mother, in the event she or others gets the post-partum munchies and is too lazy to go on a hunt.
I think it would be the parent that literally eats their baby… Out of sheer laziness.
